Ship Restoration

Here at the Houston Maritime Museum, we repair various models ranging in size from 12″ to 7′ in length! We also specialize in nautical instrument repairs. The Museum also creates handcrafted glass and acrylic cases as well as wood molding bases according to your model and your personal taste. Commercial industries in the Houson area rely on the Houston Maritime Museum to repair models of their company’s vessels. Houston oil companies use the Museum to repair models of their oil tankers. The Museum’s Master Repair Modeler uses her skills to work on all types and sizes. This LNG tanker is over 7′ long.

The Museum also specializes in early exploration vessel repairs. Models are oftentimes brought into the Museum in poor condition and are restored and returned to their owners in better-than-new condtion. The Museum also repairs nautical instruments, such as sextants. Whether the instrument is for a personal collection or for everyday use, the Museum guarantees that each piece is restored to working condition.
